A Tomato Grows in the East River – NYT

A lone tomato plant grows on a piling in the East River.
Matthew Frey, a kayaker, discovered the tomato and took this photo.

Since 1943 ‘A Tree Grows in Brooklyn’,

in 2019 a Tomato Grows in the East River.

and it’s not even a hydroponic tomato!

How times have changed.
