Shortcut:

The Longest Distance Between Two Points

IKnowTheCow is now officially on a shortcut – along with the rest of the world.

An old joke:

A man in a balloon hovering about 50 feet over the ground calls down to a woman below and asks:

“Excuse me, can you tell me where I am?”

The woman Responds:

“Why yes! you’re in a baloon hovering about 50 feet over this field.”

The man responds in an exasperated voice:

You must work in IT!”

The woman responds:

“Why yes, I do. How did you know that?”

The man says:

“Because you gave me a perfectly factual answer to my question, I don’t know any more than I did before you answered, and it was completely unhelpful”

The woman says:

“You must work in executive management.”

The man says proudly:

“Why yes, I do. How did you know that?”

The woman says:

“Because you don’t know where you are, you don’t know where you’re going, you don’t know how to get there and now it’s my fault.”

The lay of the land:

The restaurants section and tour section of the website is moot until further notice, except for nostalgic reasons. The South Shore Racing school is still exciting to look at, but we’ve had to cancel the spring session, and probably the summer session will have to go too. I hope I can sail my cat this summer.

The blog and cooking section may take on a new flavor, if you’ll pardon the mental pun. As the four of us cook on in the country kitchen over the next span of time. We all cook in very different ways in very different styles and with very different mindsets. Ray has been baking bread of various types every day. Izzy, his daughter trys new recipes that includes baking bread – last night we had bean burger sliders on fresh baked rolls. they were awesome. My sister makes great salads. Everyone is an exceptional cook in their own right. Different mindsets and philosophies are AWESOME.

We’re here on gilligans Island. feel free to contribute!

  1. Cooking together is one family function that is truly ancient. Baking bread is soothing and very therapeutic from kneading the dough to the aroma produced when baking and then – a reason to use more butter than you should.
